pa ko ste ze ravno pri diskih, frisen post iz linux-ide-arrays mailing
liste:
Here is some new information on Hitachi disks. It appears that Hitachi is
in the process of converting from lead/tin solder to lead-free solder. As
a result, they are experiencing a greater than normal failure rate, due to
poor solder connections (various causes, all process related). This is a
PROCESS issue, and not a DESIGN issue. It should be solved soon.
In the meantime, please exercise greater than normal care with Hitachi
disks. This is especially important, as Hitachi views pin failures as
'physical damage', which is NOT covered by their warranty.
Good luck.
