Pozdravljeni,

eno vprašanje, na katerega ne najdem točnega odgovora. Oracle ponuja 
različne variante svoje baze: XE, Standard, Enterprise. XE je 
brezplačna, a mi ne zadošča več (> 4 GB podatkov). Ali ima kdo izkušnje 
z uporabo Enterprise različice za svojo lastno, raziskovalno, akademsko, 
nekomercialno uporabo?

Glede na spodnji navedek:

"Oracle database licensing varies according to the edition and the 
server hardware specification. With the exception of the free XE 
edition, all editions may be licensed on either a named user or per 
processor basis. In the former case, both human and non-human operated 
devices are counted as users. In a multiplexing or multi-tier 
environment, all users at the front-end must be licensed. A named user 
license may cover multiple servers. Processor licenses are required if 
the number of users can not be determined (for example, if the database 
is being accessed via the Internet). Processor licenses may be more cost 
effective than named user licenses if the end user population is high..."

... sklepam, da si lahko Enterprise različico namestim, jo uporabljam, 
če pa želim narediti npr. spletno aplikacijo, moram plačati licenco.

1h preletavam Oraclovo domačo stran, a zanesljivega odgovora še nisem 
dobil. Vsakega vašega odgovora bom zelo vesel.
