[LUGOS] Software RAID

Ogrevam se za nakup enega serverčka *DELL PowerEdge SC 420 *(2x250GB 
HD), ki bi ga zinštaliral z Software RAID (Gentoo - En file serverček pa 
morda tudi kakšen HTTP). To sem sicer že počel ampak zdej me mede ena 
zadeva. Na njihovi suport strani piše naslednje:

" Under Linux, the disks should be treated as two independent disks, 
which use the standard Linux "MD" software RAID layer for RAID 0 or 1 
operation (if you so desire). System Documentation on support.dell.com 
<http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/SC1425/en/index.htm> 
describe how to configure the system BIOS to either disable the RAID 
mode, or to set up the disks as two independent RAID volumes 
(effectively disabling the BIOS software RAID feature)."

Zdej ne razumem al jst pod linuxom dejansko rabim RAID kontroler (CERC 
SATA 2S) al to ni potrebno?

Sicer pa kaj mi svetujete glede tega Softwerskega RAIDA. Ali se mi ga 
sploh izplača štimat, ker je omenjeni kontroler tam okrog 40k SIT
