Ok vem, da je threed zaprt, pa naj še jaz napišem za Nvidio:

I was able to get a GeForce 2 system up and running with RH 8.0 last night.
Here's what I did:

- Downloaded the NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-3123.src.rpm and
NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-3123.i386.rpm from nVidia's site.  (Note that the
NVIDIA_kernel is the src rpm file.)

- Did an 'rpmbuild --rebuild NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-3123.src.rpm' to create
drivers for the RH 8.0 kernel.  (That'll create the binary RPM in
/usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-3123.i386.rpm.)

- Installed this new NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-3123.i386.rpm and the
NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-3123.i386.rpm.

- Edited the /etc/X11/XF86Config file:

        - Removed the Load "dri" line.
        - Changed the Driver line from "nv" to "nvidia"

Worked for me!  :


Instaliral sem Nvidia driverje v X-e v RedHat 8.0 in dela super
Instaliral sem tudi Nvidia driverje v Mandrake 9.0 in isto dela super.
